Crack Sealing

Crack-sealing is the most important part of regular asphalt maintenance. Without proper crack sealing, water can penetrate to the base of your asphalt, washing away the foundation  and causing spider-web cracking. Cracking eventually leads to complete asphalt failure and potholes. Water penetration causes the majority of its damage during winter months when the water has a chance to freeze, expanding and lifting your asphalt which accelerates cracking. Using our unique three step crack-sealing process, our crack sealer will protect your asphalt from water penetration and extend the life of your asphalt.

American Pavement Sealcoating uses a hot applied crack-sealer which is heated to 400º prior to application. Our product of choice is CrackMaster Supreme by SealMaster. Once applied, our crack sealer is sanded with fine silica sand. Adding sand to the top of our quality crack sealer adds additional strength to the joint, as well as providing a rough surface for our PMM sealer to adhere to. Lastly, we slurry seal each and every crack with a thick PMM blend. This adds just one more later of protection to the most vulnerable part of your asphalt. It's no wonder our crack sealing beats out the competition's 100% of the time.
